About Us

AppCentral® is revolutionizing Mobile Application Management (MAM) by changing the way companies mobilize their workforces. We provide an enterprise app storefront and management console to distribute, secure and manage apps. AppCentral delivers the scalability and control enterprises need and supports multiple platforms including Apple iOS, Google Android, and BlackBerry tablets and smartphones.

AppCentral is a pioneer in the Mobile Application Management market. The company was founded in 2007 as Ondeego, a mobile app developer for large enterprise customers including Anheuser-Busch.

As developers, we hit some obstacles in getting our apps deployed, secured and managed. So we built the industry’s first cross-platform enterprise app store called AppCentral and have been growing rapidly ever since. Our customers include Pepsi, Intelligent Software Solutions, and the Greater New York Hospital Association.

In 2010, we were funded by one of the best VCs in the mobile business, Blue Run Ventures.

In 2011, we changed our name to AppCentral.

Today, AppCentral offers the most comprehensive solution for managing the entire mobile application lifecycle. Our private-branded app storefront allows employees to get the right apps, right when they need them, on any device they want.

Unlike solutions that focus on the management of the mobile device, AppCentral manages individual apps with app-level policies and controls. AppGuardian™, AppCentral’s security and management layer, allows administrators to remotely monitor and control individual mobile apps with fine-grained precision.

Mobile App Management delivers significant benefits to three audiences:

Business – users can choose their own devices and benefit from the company’s mobile apps while keeping their personal apps and data private.

IT Professionals – can remotely distribute mobile apps to users, secure them, track usage and wipe them if the device is lost or stolen (or the employee leaves the company).

Market Trends

“Companies today are increasingly attempting to exploit the huge productivity potential of mobile applications in the enterprise. There is no longer any doubt that mobile applications have landed in the enterprise. Kelton Research found that 90% of the US and UK IT managers they surveyed planned to deploy mobile apps in 2011.”

“An IDC survey in July 2011 found that IT managers underestimated personal device use by 50% or more. The old model of controlling devices to control data is no longer tenable in a world where the company does not own the devices, and increasingly leverages partners beyond its four walls. Additionally, with different security needs for different applications, it is important to have app-level security profiles, independent of any device policies in place.”
