Richard loves the challenge of building teams and driving businesses at the forefront of new markets, whether as part of an established large technology company or a new venture. Both his knowledge and passion for the fast growing intersection between the enterprise mobile and SaaS marketplaces make his leadership of AppCentral a perfect match.
Prior to AppCentral, Richard was VP of Global Partners at McAfee responsible for both major telecommunication companies and large systems integrators driving the adoption of SaaS based enterprise mobile security solutions. Earlier, Richard was General Manager of the Firewall business unit, driving McAfee’s entry into the Next Generation Firewall category. Prior to McAfee, Richard lead sales and field operations worldwide for Securify (acquired by Secure Computing/McAfee), Orbital Data (acquired by Citrix) and Sanctum (acquired by Watchfire/IBM). Richard began his career in the U.K. at Symantec and then as CEO of PGP Europe, before moving to the U.S. to lead strategic alliances at Network Associates.
Richard received his BSc from Nottingham University.
Ken Singer co-founded AppCentral and leads the company’s strategic initiatives. Ken has spent his entire career in the mobile industry in various executive, product management and sales roles. Previous to AppCentral, he worked at MobiTV and IPSH/Omnicom and has advised several other mobile startups. He is a mobile industry consultant having advised companies like Anheuser-Busch and several global ad agencies on how to connect to mobile consumers.
Ken is a faculty member of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology as an Industry Fellow and teaches the Mobile Applications and Entrepreneurship Course IEOR 190E at the University of California, Berkeley. He is also on the board of the Berkeley Mobile International Collaborative whose charter is to challenge the students of the world’s top universities to create the next big mobile idea.
Ken received his BA from UC Berkeley.
Pete brings over 25 years of technology industry experience to AppCentral and leads the company’s financial, operating, legal and administrative activities. Prior to AppCentral, Pete spent 12 years as co-founding Partner at BlueRun Ventures, where he participated in raising $1 billion across four funds, and oversaw many aspects of the firms operating and investing activities. During his tenure at BlueRun, Pete focused on enterprise, mobile and Internet investments and served on the Boards of Netli (acquired by Akamai), Like.com (acquired by Google), Paypal (acquired by eBay), Bitfone (acquired by HP) and Location Labs, among others. Prior to BlueRun, Pete spent 8 years serving in executive financial and operation roles at Ipsilon Networks (acquired by Nokia) and Teknekron Software Alliance.
Pete began his career in public accounting at Price Waterhouse and received his B.S. from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
Mike has a long, successful track record of building high performing engineering teams in both early stage and mature technology companies. He joins AppCentral from McAfee where he oversaw a global team developing enterprise firewall products. Mike joined McAfee via the Securify/Secure Computing acquisition. Prior to McAfee, Mike served as Vice President, Engineering at JRG Software, a provider of SaaS supply chain software solutions, and in engineering management at OnLink Technologies and Siebel Systems (via the acquisition of OnLink).
Mike began his career as a software engineer and received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
David has more than 15 years of enterprise software/SaaS direct sales and channel partner experience. He joined AppCentral, from Exalead an enterprise search provider in San Francisco, CA, where he served as the Vice President of North American Sales. In this role, he built a world-class sales team delivering record sales results. Prior to Exalead, David held a variety of executive sales roles at Remedy Interactive, BlueRoads Corporation, Ziff Davis, Pana-Pacific, Pactel, Intel, Covigo, Taviz Technology, Brightinfo and Cotelligent.
David received a BS in business administration from Saint Mary’s College.
A 25-year industry veteran, Mr. Dasher was most recently Senior Director of Marketing for the Data Protection and Mobile business units at McAfee, Director of Product Marketing and Product Management at PGP Corp., and Director of Business Development & New Products at FileMaker. He held senior marketing and development positions at Ventro (the first venture-funded B2B e-commerce marketplace) and the Internet & Software Solutions group at Xerox Corp. He co-founded and was VP of Engineering for Verano, an enterprise content management and supply chain management startup, where he received a patent on multi-platform search (U.S. patent number 6,055,543). Earlier, he spent 12 years at Apple, playing a key roles in the development of its numerous Input Device, Imaging, PowerBook, and Internet products. He also founded and managed Fifth Wave, a software development firm.
John began his career as a test engineer at Apple, and received his B.A. from the University of San Diego.
Spencer leads the professional services and pre-sales organization at AppCentral. He has more than 25 years of experience building and leading world-class services, consulting, support, and training organizations at high growth technology companies. Prior to joining AppCentral, Spencer served as Vice President of Services for Exalead, Dassault Systemes, Verity and Autonomy. Spencer founded and later sold JDS Systems which provided one of the first mobile web based sales management applications for a distributed sales force that provide point of sale, contact management and accounting capabilities.
Spencer began his career as a software engineer at Index Technologies and received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Montana.
